Today I assisted with teaching a PADI Rescue Course. This involved watching the skill videos, briefing the skills and then practicing them in the water.
Firstly we did self-help skills: how to remove cramp and effectively clear your reg and mask.
Next we did surface skills: How to tow a tired diver and how to help and tow a panicked diver without putting yourself at risk using 3 different types of tow.
We then did underwater skills: how to respond to a diver in passive panic, active panic and an over-exerted diver. We also practiced how to prevent a panicked diver from making a rapid ascent.
We also practiced how to search for a missing diver underwater using 3 search patterns.
It was really fun to be a part of and usual for me to practice how the course should be taught as an instructor.
